Spring is a great time to be on the beautiful Chisholme Estate. There is much to do in the woods to tidy up from the winter, and the garden needs help to prepare it for the growing season that lies ahead. There are potatoes, peas, and onions waiting to be planted outside, and in the poly-tunnels salad crops and herbs can be seeded. Activities will be varied and you will be offered opportunities also to work in other areas such as in the woodland, house and kitchen.

You will be living and working in a place dedicated to supporting the discovery of your own potential.

Chisholme is a school with the guiding principle of the unity of all being. Once glimpsed, this is a vision – or mystery – that can transform our understanding of ourselves and the world. You can read more about it here.
As a volunteer you are invited to participate in meditations, study of wisdom texts and other of our practices. You will be part of a team, and there will be ample opportunities to ask questions of us and yourself!

You will also enjoy great food, good company and the chance to explore the beautiful countryside around Chisholme. The hope is that you will leave with more than you came with: new friends, new skills (such as gardening or cooking) and a new understanding of yourself - and a wish to return!

Outline of the fortnight's programme, in addition to the daily work sessions which start at 9am:

Sundays: Walk in the countryside after lunch.
Mondays: Optional study after tea.
Tuesdays: Sometimes a movie after supper.

Fridays: Optional study after tea; end of fortnight and weather permitting a bonfire.

Volunteers are a vital part of life at Chisholme. The School could not have been built, nor maintained over the last forty years, without the support of many dedicated volunteers.

Chisholme is an amazing place to volunteer. You can learn great new skills and really feel appreciated for who you are and what you do.
