‘We are now eating the vegetables planted during the Spring, and invite you to be part of this cycle from seed to soil to plant to kitchen and to our plates’

October is the first month of the ‘winter 6 months’ at Chisholme – traditionally a time of inward focus and contemplation. While holding to this intention, we are proposing that the month of October will also have a practical focus on the Garden and Estate.

In the Garden, it will be a celebration of the year’s exceptional productivity. After a year of good growing weather, and a lot of hard work from many wonderful people, there has been a tremendous harvest of vegetables through the summer, and this will continue into the Autumn. So in October, we will be continuing to harvest and we will also begin to put the garden to bed for the winter, while preparing for its re-awakening next Spring. Do come and join us – the weather will still be lovely and the birds will still be singing.

Come and take part in gardening, cooking and sharing meals, meditation and all the activities that make Chisholme such a beautiful place for learning.

Do let us know if you can't do certain tasks and we'll adapt accordingly.

Garden volunteering is on a pay-as-you-can basis with the suggestion of £15 per night, or more or less depending on your situation.
Wwoofers are also most welcome at this time.
